The PI portable had a locking tab on the wire. Got a Master 5/16 cable lock to wrap and cinch up around the post. Will deter all but the "highly" motivated with tools!

I use a vinyl covered cable (bicycle cable lock?). I wrap it around the pedestal a few times, thru the "handle" of my power cord and then into the metal tab on the surge protector. I use a lock with a longer hasp. This only deters the honest folks. The punks will use cable cutters to get it, but at least they will have to work for it.

If someone wants it bad enough, they'll get it no matter what you do.

Don't buy the cheap plastic lock box you see on the internet. what I did was get a long shackle lock that just fit over the wire on the surge protector but not the plug. I run a chain around the pedestal thru the handle on my power cord and finally hooked to the shackle viva the lock, inexpensive and works great I'll look and see if I have a pic and post.

Morning Bob, I had my protector inside a compartment on the Class A but on this rig its not practical so I lock it to the pedestal on the plus side it protects my power cord also.

Most electrical posts have these holes for a lock. If you cannot get the electrical box cover open, tough to steal the protector.

We don't have a cord problem with the hardwired ones......my thought was one could wire a plug to land line inside, plug that into protector, add another plug to converter......and just leave it alone...

On the plus side of hard-wiring inside is the the EMS will sense a problem with the outside cord. So if there is a break or short due to damage from walking/driving on the cord, the EMS will sense it.

i used to lock the door of the Box as pictured above when it was available.

I also used a lock marked Ruger just to remind them that some things aren't worth it
