Exclamation Seeking advice on leveling on a sloped RV pad

We were so excited to find a house with an RV pad so we don't have to pay storage fees...only to discover it's a bit steep when actually using it!

I have X-chocks between the wheels, but the ground is a fine gravel that does allow some movement overall, which makes me nervous. Maybe it's heavy enough that I don't need to be, but I'd rather be cautious than sorry.

My first thought is to get some concrete blocks to put under the tongue jack and maybe dig down a little bit to stabilize them. And I could add rubber chocks to the wheels too. Then put up the stabilizers?

Anyway, I'm not too handy when it comes to building, so would love to hear some solutions "anybody" could do/buy to keep this safe.

I wouldn't use Hadite or concrete blocks.

GO to Lowe's, get a LONG 2X12. Cut blocks about 12" x 12". Stack as many as needed. You can make a set by screwing one to the first one, then screw the 3rd to the 2nd one, and put them about 2-5 blocks high. Put under each landing gear as needed to level.

You're really not that bad. Nice looking spot. Just put some blocks under front, and under front jack.

Definitely use chocks on both sides. The rubber ones at harbor freight are excellent.

Also, read the owner's manual on your x-chocks, they are not to be used in place of regular tire chocks.

That's doable. Do you think I leave the stabilizers down or just rely on the wheels and front jack?

Good to know! I'll correct that today. Thx!

Level, using blocks, NOT the stabilizers. They are to stabilize what is already level. Nothing else. Once level, put the stabilizer jacks down to ...........to stabilize it.

Do you have levelers or stabilizers? Hard to tell from the picture but the could be either. If stabilizers get the weight off them before they collapse.

If levelers you can leave it up like that without issues

Lippert Ground Control levelers, I believe. This one here: https://youtu.be/F7T9YFkaymA?t=1m25s

add the four rubber chocks from HF to each of the wheels and use 2x8 wood to pull up on to level side to side under the low side wheels, then level front to back using wood under the front tongue jack... using 4 rubber chocks will make it unmovable... use the stab jacks if you are inside moving around otherwise leave them up...

If you can plug-in for power great, otherwise disconnect + lead from battery to prevent it from going dead, take it inside, or put a batt charger on it for long term storage

you can order using harborfreight dot com without going to the store...

He has levelers, not stabilizers so does not need wood for side to side or tounge jack to level.

The jack in the air is normal, even though it looks odd, especially seeing it for the first time.

So they're actually power leveling jacks. I think I used the wrong terminology above. They're the Lippert Ground Control levelers as seen here: https://youtu.be/F7T9YFkaymA?t=1m25s

In which case maybe putting these down is a stronger solution than even the wood blocks under the power tongue...

Don't think they're levelers, otherwise the rig would be level. Those are Lippert Electric Stabilizers.

Just make it simple! 2X12's under the tires to level side to side and 2x12 stack under power tongue jack to level front to rear, rubber chocks in front and behind tires after on the timbers. Keep stabilizers up if not in use while parked.

They're levelers. When we activate them, they go down and put up the tongue and you use the RV with the tongue up and the levelers down. So if it can support us inside, it should be able to support the unit without us.

We have the Lippert level up system. From what I see, you will need blocks of some type for the front Jack's. Looks like site is fairly level from side to side, so you should be ok. I would exercise jacks if they are down for awhile.

I have been to many camp sites worse than that. Decent chocks and you should be fine. If I am on a semi-steep slope I will chock all 4 tires downhill side.

Those are stabilizers. You need blocks of some sort under the tires to level the rig. I use Lynx Levelers to get the trailer level, set the stabilizers then install the X-Chocks to prevent trailer wiggle, then put out the slides. But that's just me.

Trailer parking

I can’t tell by the pictures, but I would just have it regraded and some base rock or even concrete put in there then you never have to mess around with all that other stuff. Just a possible solution that is done once. I was a grading contractor at one point so I think that way first.

They are "Lippert Ground Control 3.0"like the owner stated! THIS is for leveling, AFTER he secures the trailer from MOVING by Chocking all the tires! Like the Lippert manual says! Youroo! !
