Service Center near Stone Mountain, GA

Looking for some help/advice from those living or familiar with the area. DW and I will be spending this winter in Stone Mountain and wanted to know about reputable RV centers near this area.

Anyone in the community that can provide some helpful suggestions?

Thank you in advance

Peco has been bought out by Campers Inn so I don't know if they still work on Forest
River. I heard that they had a falling out with Forest River. Either way they don't have
a good rep. I have used Camper City for warranty work and they did a good job.
Unfortunately they are a 45 minute drive North of Stone Mountain.

I use RV World Of Georgia, my fiver is currently there for warranty work. I live in Alabama and drive 3 hours to get there and I've got two other dealers closer.

I see their signs on the way to work everyday. Are you happy with them? They are very close to Stone Mountain and in between work and home for me.

They have been great to deal with both on the sale side and service side. They've had my fiver for 6 weeks now but FR has sent wrong items twice. They are also installing Torklift Revolution steps and are waiting for them to come in. Only issue is getting service on the phone at times but it has been there peak season. Both Glen and Jim always answer all of questions and have been great to deal with. Will be purchasing our new C+ or DP once the wife decides what she wants.

Campers Inn is probably less than 2 miles from Stone Mountain Park but so far people are not happy with them. Peco did a very good job of sales and service so a lot of them got spoiled so buyer beware. There is Crown RV in Covington, Three Way RV in Marietta or Camping World in Woodstock (which is impossible to get into). RV World of Georgia may be you best bet but you may want to go visit them before you need service. Several other small dealers in the Atlanta area, 3 on the South side, also Normans RV in Marietta, Three Way in Marietta may be worth checking out also, fairly large dealer, also a good time to have a meal at the Marietta Diner, south of the Big Chicken (ask around about it-a local landmark), great food for a good price. None are a great distance from Stone Mountain but Atlanta traffic will be the most time consuming. BTW there is a RV show in Forest Park in January if you want to shop around.

Curious if you have something specific that needs to be done? Not sure who they all were, but seems every time we've been at SM, there were mobile service techs. Heck I even saw one doing a windshield replacement along with body work and paint to the front cap. Not sure who they were though.

Stone Mountain is nice, we love it, but they definitely need to sink a LOT of money in some of their sites and roads. It's gone downhill so much since I was a kid. But, we still go, and stay closer to the playground / pool now to satisfy the kids when we're not doing other stuff.

Since they sold the rights to the park to a for-profit company they are less inclined to make a lot of improvements. I haven't been there in quite a few years, the village is kind of fun to look in the touristy shops and the laser show is great but the whole area seems to have made a change and not as desirable. I live on the west side of the Atlanta metro but have do plans to visit the rock any time in the future.

Makes sense. That's a shame. Was real nice years ago. My kids did enjoy the manmade snow slopes "snow mountain" a couple of years back. Other than that, really nothing in it for me except to see kids have fun.

Peco may be the closest to Stone Mountain, but they have earned the right to be your last resort. Read their reviews and consider other's advice here. Good Luck!

My first camper I bought from the original owners of PECO I then decide to buy again but while in the process I found out they had been sold to Campers Inn so I still went ahead and bought. I had some warranty issues that finally got fix after 3 weeks. I ended up calling Corporate for Campers Inn next day they where scrambling to fix. Got back 2 days later.

They let go everybody that new anything except Adam in service. If he is still there he is the to go to guy to get things fixed. It would be the closest dealer to you and yes they still handle FR products to include now MH. You can always check out and if not to your liking move on to RV World or the other mentioned. Later RJD

Just passed the sign, it was National RV of Atlanta. Not the same as RV World I guess. Is RV World up by CW up 85? The National place is about 5 miles from the gate, but I have not heard a single word about them.

Thank you all for your responses and great comments.

BigJohn, I don't have anything at the moment. Just getting info since we will be spending winter in this area. However, after owning my unit for 4 days, it has now been in the shop for a month getting work done. As a result, confidence is not very high.

BooBoo, we are familiar with Marietta Diner since our daughter and grandkids live in Marietta (thus the winter stay in GA). We agree, it is a great place to dine.

We will look into RV of GA further and hope we do not have to use them at all.

Thank you guys!!!

I live in Duluth, Ga and bought my RPod at 3 Way Campers. It's on the west side of town but they service RPods since they sell them.

Since you go to Marietta for you visits with DD and know where the Marietta Diner is you may want to check out Three Way Campers on South Cobb Parkway maybe 1-2 miles north of the diner (on your right, Northbound). They may be closer than RV World of GA. It is also a 3-generation family owned RV dealer (48 years) and I have seen many good reviews of them, so to stay in business that long they must be doing something right. They have a good sized facility. You may want to Google them for reviews. I've been to their place several times to look at RV's. They don't follow you around, just say help yourself, and if you have any questions stop back at the office.

X2 - I no longer use Peco.

We thought about staying at Stone Mountain this year but decided against it due to costing $50 per night with no sites that had a good view of the lake. I would recommend Red Top Mountain, a GA state park, for a better facility-just north of Atlanta.

As far as RV service there is Camping World off of I-85 near Oakwood, in addition, but they are only rated 3-star. Since PECO was taken over I now go to Apalachee RV in Auburn off of GA 319. They are rated 5-star, but that may be a little far for you to go.

Post Dealer near Stone Mts.

I bought my Georgetown at National Indoor RV. They are off of Hwy 78 right near Home Depot. I was very happy with them. I live in Ocala, FL and bought my 2014 Georgetown from them. If you do go there, tell them a happy customer from Ocala, FL sent you.
