Mine is 1 3/4" but, I am sure you can find one. I bet if you see a Installer and ask him he will give you one or check out ebay. Anyway here is what it looks like.

I just looked on ebay and they have em for 2" OD that's the size mine is OD.

Will any of the portable dishes receive Direct TV in HD? The Weingard Carryout and Tailgater say SD only for Direct TV, but will receive HD for DISH and Bell. I will be going with the system that will provide HD.

The carry outs don't get hd for direct tv, only dish. I was told that direct tv doesn't think there is much of a market for it. I disagree. To get a hd signal on direct tv you will need to find a hd dish and a hd receiver. For hd from dish you need the he receiver and a hd dish or hd globe/carry out

From start to finish it takes me less than 10 minutes. Personally I don't care for the round bubble levels. I use a 9" torpedo level on the post. It doesen't have to be exact. This will get you plenty close with a typical compass.

The setup I use is portable in a sense and yes it gets HD. I got a H25 receiver that is about as big a book which doesn't take any space in the camper..

Should we call you "Dish". I knew a stripper named Dish many, many moons ago...

.... what method and equip do you other guys use to get fastest signal aquisition???
I set my system up for the first time last week, and was thinking of preparing a write-up so others could benefit from my experience so I'll start a new thread for that when I do it.

To answer your specific question, I firstly select a site with a view of the satellite (my wife likes very shady sites) by using the SatFinder App for my Android phone. After getting the RV parked and setup, I set my tripod and dish settings using the phone App, and then connect up to the TV and tune to the Signal Strength screen. I tweak the dish as Sandy calls out tuning information. It was a very quick lock - almost perfectly aligned right away.

Probably took less than 30 minutes for the whole process, but could easily have been 5-10 minutes had I just been setting it to watch the MotoGP, rather than enjoy the "new trailer, etc" experience .

You ever find your android gives you different numbers than the dish box? Also which dish are you using ( pro, pro plus, 500, 1000.2, 10004) and how many lnb 's are you tuning?.....

That was the first time I used this Sat system and the App and I was very impressed with it.

I'm using Shaw Direct TV (Canadian system) that uses a dual LNB and accesses 2 separate ANIK satellites but Shaw instruct you only to use the settings for 2nd satellite "ANIK F1 111W". They told me about the SatFinder App and pointed out the Skew setting in the App needs 90 deg adding to the number.

I may just have got lucky on this first setup but I thought it all worked really well. I should add that I've been using Bell ExpressVu Sat TV (now Bell TV) for about 10 years in my previous RVs so I'm not new to this.

i have the dish pointer pro app on my tab and phone....uses camera and shows an overlay of where the sats are, line of sight, and gives angles...its nifty, but i find the on screen stuff works just as easily and fast....

i aimed my 500 dual lnb for years and usualy hit it first try every try....now that im using the oval dish with triple lnb i sometimes have trouble peaking the signal on the 129 sat....i like having all three feeds, but if i cant get more proficient at aiming this thing i may give up....
