I agree have faith in the Lord, without faith its impossible to please him.

But, he does say be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove.

We have our part to do also.

Have had a couple of close ones. First one tenting, found out the campground was expecting 60 mph winds that night next day (hurricane was coming) - we packed up and left. Had visions of rolling end over end in the tent. # Two - popup, did not like the one camping pad, so moved one site over. That night, lighting hit the tree in the site we were supposed to be at. We would have been right under it. Three, same popup - out in South Dakota with winds around 50-55 mph and good conditions for a tornado. Could not sleep all with all that buffetting and blowing and such. Found out the next morning that the camper had scooted several inches. Now I always check out the weather on my smart phone when we are out.....

The good Lord has always taken care of me. I think he wants me to stick around and help raise his children.

The Lord works in mysterious ways, sometimes he works by giving you the tools you need to protect yourself ie a storm shelter

We get some pretty nasty thunderstorms around here and we do get hurricanes and tornados. So far we have been blessed. We were supposed to be bringing the TT home from the dealership (it was getting repaired). When we got there it wasn't ready like they said it was so we had to head home without it. Right as we left, a severe weather alert was issued for tornados in the area. As we drove home the old SUV was buffeted all over the road, listening to the radio we were a little ahead of one f the tornados. Got home and found out, 2 tornados ad passed by our neighborhood, no damage to us but some area businesses were leveled. The dealership delivered us the TT 2 weeks later. so glad that worked out the way it did.

We did ride out a pretty bad thunderstorm in myrtle beach. We had the awning rolled up, DD cuddled up to me watching the lightning out the windows. Could feel the wind on the TT. We felt safe but were ready to move out to safety if necessary.

about a year or two ago a tenter was killed when a branch fell on his tent during a storm. Be aware of the trees around you when parking, look for dead or dying trees or over hanging branches that might fall in a high wind.

A few years ago before we upgraded to our Apex, we were camping at Lakeport State Park in a pop-up when a severe thunderstorm blew in.
Park rangers patrolled with a bullhorn announcing the tornado warning. After storing the canopy and other small items, the winds picked up and started blowing the trees around. Many of which were compromised by the emerald ash borer. Entire trees started falling down just 30 feet from our site.

We hurried to the bathrooms and stood by watching the branches rain down on our site.

A small tornado was spotted just a mile away from the campground

Thanks for the stories....I had family members go through a tornado that hit the St. Louis airport in 2011. It was a very scary and I have a new outlook on spring weather. As much as I love my RV...its the last place I want to be in a bad storm especially with my kids. Here are some pics. Looks like we will be modifying our camping plans this weekend!
