Don't know why one wouldn't use the toilet and shower. Once in a while we might use the campground shower but it is so convenient to have the full bathroom right there. I can't imagine using the bathrooms in the middle of the night in the campground, especially if not real close.

Larry, i believe you are correct. Cut the under belly and do not have a problem there. Connection, pipes, etc. all look good. Black tank vent is not stopped up--ran water down through vent out of tank dunp valve. I separated toilet bowl from base and got the same odor, but did not see any liquid. I did see a very small anount of buildup in a few nplaces. Sent Dometic an email this AM but no rersponse yet. Thinking about replacing all seals and gaskets. This is not what i wanted to be doing today!

well, i just found out about Dometic customer service big time. Lady told me to take it to a service center. I told her that i had already remove toilet from rv and it smelled. She said we do not have a problem with our toilets and that was that. She did wish me a happy day. Guess i am now on my own!

I'm wondering if I am using an inaffective chemical. I have little green pillows.... I forget the brand name. Our first trailer with a bathroom, and their are stinky smells. We have to do something different...

Your experience with Dometic regarding your toilet leak is totally opposite the experience I had.

In April of this year I had the leak/seal problem with my Dometic 310. I placed a call to Diane at Dometic and she sent me a new 310 via overnight shipping at no charge. The entire transaction didn't take 10 minutes!

Here is the contact info:

Dometic 800-321-9886

I hope you get some satisfaction. My experience with dometic was fantastic!

They sent out a new 310 overnight free of charge and did not want the old one back?
Well it shows(my thought) how cheap these are. No wonder they have problems.

Do you have a P trap under your bathroom sink?
If not you may have a Hepvo valve as my trailer did.
They can get loaded up with hair and soap scum and either stick
open or plug up completely. If it sticks open and you leave your Gray water
dump valve open while hooked up to the campground sewer system, odors will
work their way through your drain system and come out your sink and shower drains.

Yes on p-trap. Just talked to Diane at Dometic. Much nicer than last person I talked to. No help will be coming because I am not the original owner and toilet is over two years old. I am going to reassemble toilet using sealant on gaskets, a new flange seal, and hope for the best. If problem arises again a new toilet hopefully will be the answer. Thanks for all of the replies.
