What's interesting, I'm exactly the opposite. I'll post about trips and going away on Facebook but prefer not to on open forums such as this.

That said, I'm fairly selective on who I "friend" (frankly often unfriending more people than I friend). I also attempt to keep my privacy settings so that only my friends see most things.

I gather you have not actually read the privacy agreement.

Here, of course, you have no privacy and we make no bones about it.
On Facebook you have no privacy; they just hide the fact better.
They own everything you post; pictures, text, everything.

Privacy and copyright/ownership are 2 different things. I stand by what I said- I make an attempt to keep my status to only my friends.

Interesting topic here. Trying not to get too off topic, but how many of you use the same password and user name for multiple services or haven't changed passwords for more than 6 months. Risk of being hacked is probably higher than other crimes......

We usually don't tell people about a trip until we are back. Even at church, we don't ask for prayers for travel graces. I stop my mail with a hold order. My next door neighbor picks up the paper because I'm not so sure about the carrier(hard enough to get them to deliver it). The neighbor also feeds my cats and does a walk around too. We usually have the garage doors down when we are home so when we are gone, things look the same. The only thing that may be a tell-tell sign for us taking a trip is the day before we leave, I'll hook up the truck/TT with the truck sticking out of the trailer shed.

This is one reason I like that my 5er is not kept at the house. A missing rv is a tell take sign of somebody being away.

I'm usually not too worried at home. We've got a cop next door and one of those retired guys who sits out front all day watching the neighbourhood across the street. He notices when I come and go, even at 3am so I know my place is being watched. (Sometimes uncomfortably so.)

But as far as forums, I try not to post identifying materials. None of my shots have a visible address or license plate, I avoid use of real names, etc...

Am I the only one left in this country without ANY "social media" accounts...or interest in them for that matter?

If you're here, you have at least one.

Not at all. I've resisted the use of that tool of Satan Facebook. I have no need or desire to "connect" with anyone that I don't already talk to in person, email, text, or call. No Twitter (I don't care what Kim Kardashian is doing right at this moment, and I doubt very highly that she--or anyone else--cares what I'm doing either.) If you Google my real name, there's not much that comes up. I'm an Internet ghost, and that's the way I like it.

Now, forums like this: yes, I'm on several, but none of them with my real name, other than PMs.

This pic is from last January's sleet storm that came thru. Our garage doors are down most of the time whether we are home or not, unless we are puttering around, going in/out. The door to the trailer shed is up when I'm tinkering in there(on days I need "AC") or when I'm hooked up, ready to go. The way(angle to the road) the building sits, it is hard to see the TT from the road. So when the truck is hooked up, passersby make think the truck is being worked on in the shed.

LOL - except today of course when we have 100 members and 650 "guests"

Now (120 members and 658 guests)

One of the problems with the guest count is how you get to the forum. If I click a subscription link in my email, or Google a question and FRF comes up as an option, chances are, I will be here as a guest, but if I open the app, or click on an alert, I'll end up here all signed in.

Very true, but the likelihood of someone finding me and my posts here are slim compared to finding me over on the facebook.
