Shopping used RVs

Wife and I close on our house next month. We are building on family property and want to buy an RV to live on site while we build. We also have a food truck business which is pretty slow in the summer so to supplement we do insurance adjusting on the road. We also love to camp and explore so this makes total sense. We want something used (under 16k) that may need some cosmetic work but is livable.
We like the retro look.
We honestly don’t know where to even start besides browsing lots to get a feel of the size we need. We
Are building a tiny home so this will be a good test to practice living with limited space.
Have seen some cool looking Winnabegos.
Any advice for me?
We won’t be on the road much. Mostly stationary

Craig's list. Why build a tiny home when an RV will be better equipped and cheaper? But that's just me

The only "retro" trailer in the FR family, was the Shasta Airflyte Reissue.
It was in production for a few years but apparently is no longer made.

Lol no kidding. We built the food trucks out of busses and are tempted to build a RV out of one instead. Of the home. When we get older though we are going to need more room.
You would be surprised at how cheap you can build a 900 sqf small home if you get material from Dirt Cheap Salvage building supplies and do some yourself.
When it’s all said and done the RV will be a great toy!

I saw those. Bought a retro teardrop last year but had to sell it. No time to restore. I wish I kept it for fun.

I found my old TT on craigslist and the one that I have now, which I also bought used at a local dealer. Searching dealers lots will give you an idea of what's out there and what to expect for pricing.
