Shrinky water hose

Has anybody used one of those shrinky water hoses for their black water flusher - there seems to be a black one or a green one and I thought I saw somewhere that one is good and one useless but don't remember which is which - any help ?

Have a friend who has one. Don't remember what color, the first one lasted about a year before it developed a leak. But wait, then he started using the second one that only cost seperate processing and handling . No problems with that one yet.

I think you are talking about the pocket hose. We use these at home and for black tank flush. We like them for their small size when not in use. We have had several break on us though. We just buy another one when it does, we typically only get one season out of the newer ones. Our first one has lasted us almost 3 years now.

Our first two cheapie versions burst apart in just a few uses. We wised up and spent a bit more on one made by DAP. Three years in and still just fine.

We've got 2 here at the house, a 25' and 50'. They are both the DAP Xhose pro with the metal ends. Had both for a year with no issues, we leave both out in the sun. I was going to order one for the black flush but the reviews made me second guess it. Think I'm going to run with experience and just buy it. Anything with plastic ends won't last.

I use the blue X-hose with the plastic fittings for my black tank, no issues (yet). My dad has had a couple of the green pocket hoses that have broken right away.

Use a 50' black one with metal ends and it has broken a couple of times within about 6' of the fittings. Just cut it, take the fitting apart and put it back together. Takes about 10 minutes to fix it. Good as new again.

Come to think of it, The one that has survived is a blue one with plastic ends. Not sure of brand.

Same as others have said...bought a pricier one, no problems after a couple years of use. Like having it the trailer since it is very light and shrinks to a small size thats easy for storing. We only use them for black tank flush and general purpose, not for fresh water.

I think the black one is the better one. I use the green one for +- 2 years. It works fine but it always seems like it's just about to break.

I've had 2 green ones. Both sprung leaks at the nozzle end within a year.

If you still have them, you can repair them.

I took the first one back and exchanged under store warranty. Tried to repair the second with metal fitting. Was so proud with warm fuzzy feeling.... right up until the moment the nozzle came off in my hand and I got a cold shower.

Have had 2 Green, 1 Blue and on my 2nd Black. Once that one goes, I am done - back to Sears for my lifetime guarantee hoses. All of them blew the inner liner.

I picked up one of those shrinky green hoses at Walgreens last year. Second time I used it, I went to screw it into the faucet on the house and snapped the cheap, black plastic connector right in two...out $20!! (They are a POC)
