2 problems -

1) my family of 4 won't fit a smart car.

2) have you seen the video of driving off of that thing?! I don't have the testicular fortitude that it would take.

No Smart car, your golf cart. You drive the truck like you do now.

Mine is registered as a RV in my home state so no CDL required, even tho I do have a CDL, by pass scales as you are a private RV not commercial, I was stopped once in Fl. by a DOT officer just bob tailing he looked at insurance, license & registration info asked about what I pull and said have a nice day & drive safe. For more info check out the Escapees forums boards under HDT and also check out this link Home | Heavy Haulers RV Resource Guide

Driving off is the easy part, driving up and on the deck is what will scare the heck out of you

No driving up or down. Ramps (Discount Ramps make them just for SmartCars) and a heavy duty winch. Mountain Masters (Phoenix, AZ) makes a really fancy setup if you have $$$

Sure get lots of comments when we pull into rest stops. Number 1 is "do you just lift it up there?'

I'll bet he is not fretting about weights and numbers and hills and elevations to avoid!

Just looking at eBay Motors Semi Trucks - I am amazed at how low the prices are on these things! A used F250 cost more than a lot of them.

One of the deciding factors, it was less then looking at the brand new trucks that I would still not be happy with, also consider the stopping power you have now.
