SNL RV Life
SNL seems to have some new writers and in skit was pulled off the internet as it got heavy backlash and scrutiny. “Dad’s Christmas”
I feel this one was by the same writer. Not sure what I think about it.

 Thanks B and B!!!! I only watched a quarter of it so far and am crying from laughing!! Wife calls out from other room, "what's so funny?" I said, "you'll see soon!" We haven't made our first trip yet.

If anyone here hasn't seen Ricky and Lucy in "The long long trailer" you need to watch it!!
It was out of "print" for a while but a while back you could get DVDs on ebay and other places.
I don't know if it's available for streaming or not but I'm sure someone will post here if it is.

I guess I am getting old, lol - watching that made me pine for the original generation of SNL when it was actually funny . I'm not offended by the skit or anything like that, and to me it certainly is not insulting to RVers...I just don't think the skit is funny. My favorite character in the entire skit, by far, is Lady Gray .

X2!! I really try to enjoy the current SNL, but like this skit, it is mostly just bad.....

Agree about bringing back Garret Morris, John Belushi, and the other 'not ready for prime-time players'! We'd have to dig most of 'em up though, and my back is bad.

Not to mention, Chevy Chase, Gilda Radner, Dan Akroyd, Jane Curtain, Al Franken....IMHO it has gotten less and less funny as the years progressed (with the possible exception of Will Ferrel. I think he's funny ).

Just had a recollection of that old Belushi skit filmed in black and white where he's an old man, walking through a cemetery in the snow, looking at all the tombstones with the names of all the old cast and remarking about how they're all dead now. Pretty prophetic. I loved that skit. You can't find it on youtube. You'd think it would public domain by now, lol.

Are you saying that we are starting to sound like our parents!?! Yeah, probably some of that, but there are a lot of things I love about current day. It could also be that I don't drink, etc., like I did back in college and that surely altered what I would think is funny. To be fair, obviously SNL is geared toward the younger audience....Hooboy, "kids today" !!!

I remember when SNL was actually funny. Always had some political overtones but not the political hate they pump out now. I was surprised that they could make this RV skit without some political jab of some kind. The old comedians could actually act as well.
