Snowmagedon 2014
Get out and get your bread, milk and eggs's a winter storm is brewing! They are talking temps that have not been seen around here for 2-3 decades and 12+ inches of snow (depending on what channel you watch).
I was able to get the truck under cover for the first time...its just fits! I am looking forward to not cleaning it off for work on monday!

We are expecting 8-12", -30 to-40 windchill factors from 25-35mph winds. I'm closing work on Monday if this actually happens. Oakman, was your advice a case of experience?

Never thought of it as a must have.....until now. You know the drill here in St. Louis....Went to Home depot this am for some things and apparently all the snow shovel's must be disposable now days because folks were knocking over each other to get one. Folks here are crazy. I would know, I am one of them.

I've never understood the run on shovels when snow is predicted either. What do people do, shovel the driveway and then throw the shovel away?

Like snow or studded tires some people just have to wait till the last minute before laying out the cash for what they need.
I would bet they do their Christmas shopping the same way.

Typical Rochester winter. We have taken over the dubious distinction of being the snowiest major city in the country.

You mean Rochester had overtaken Buffalo for that dubious honor?
Sent you a PM yesterday.

I noticed the same run here on outside water spigot covers when freezing weather is predicted.
They are reusable

Meanwhile- just another beautiful day here in Sunny Southern Arizona.

Ryan, I'm pretty sure the milk/bread/eggs thing is just a St. Louis thing. I don't know if any other city does that when snow is called for.
I dont understand it... A) the last time I can remember being "snowed in" for more than 24 hours was Feb of 82. (14" of thundersnow) and B) what are all these people planning on doing? Living on french toast?

Maybe it's from my Upstate NY past, but stocking up on staples is/was a getting ready for being snowed in thing.
Getting a full tank of fuel in your vehicle is another.
