your not going to believe me
we spent all day at a RV dealer in mesquite looking at a 40 foot diesel pusher from holiday rambler, a left over 2007 brand new 239k smackers
took pics, crawled all over it and compared it my GREAT cedar creek, quality wise, fit and finish, storage, ease of basement storage etc.
got em down to 189k and trade our fiver and f350
but i just couldnt get my stomach to settle so we walked away
nice looking rig SIZEWISE and frame wise
but the interior fit and finish was what i felt below par and should have been levels above our cedar creek, and i gained a new respect of our great fiver and how its put together so well .
i would have liked a new pusher, but the voice in my head kept telling me to walk away "luke"
it just wasnt this one rig either, it was most of the HR stuff.
ne thiing that BOTERED me was where the main tv in teh salon was placed
right in the middle f the frnt window. great for letting everyone see the screen.
but i like to sit in my nice swedish recliner and watch tv, and in this floorplan i would have to sit on the couch, all crooked necked
i did like the floorplan, but for that much moola, i think i like my 36rlts a lot better
I can say the dealership was great.low pressure and very helpful, they probably earned a customer, just not this week
the floorplan was the 40dft.
i will say i sure thing the fiver is the way to go for the most bang for the dollar.
i figured maybe out of the 189k the chassis should run about 75K, so that leaves 114k for the furnishings and coach. WOW i can get a very swank fiver for 114k.
so let me say again... I sure do like my cedar creek
