We are on the maiden voyage of our new 2012 Flagstaff 8528RKWS even tho' we spent the first 46 days of this yr in FL in our 08Flagstaff 831RLSS. We are in the Forest Lake Thousand Trails Campground between Lexington & Mocksville, NC (North of Charlotte). So far, everything is going fine. Very quiet campground.

After school is out we will be taking the 4 youngest granddaughters (ages 7,5,5,5) camping for a few days. We always take the 17 year old granddaughter with us when we go out of state. This year she will be working so she will stay home when we take out month long trip. Not sure where we will take the little ones but anywhere will be great.

Well herk the family and I have decided we are going to head to Gettysburg KOA, however we are going to take advantage of the 4-day weekend (06-09APR12). This site looks real fun with lots of things to do and see. The family should have a great time.

Enjoy! let me know how it went as we are booked there twice this summer and will be there again next year for the 150th anniversary.

The KOA seems a great value for the money.

Unfortunately, I'm still doing Cardiac Rehab until the middle of April, so Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are home days. It's possible that DW will be having shoulder surgery soon, so that will put a damper on things, too.

The weather is still pretty wild up here. It's starting to warm up (low 60s) but it's ridiculously windy. I don't think we've had more than a couple of days in the last fortnight that we haven't had winds above 40 knots. It's blowing about 50 with higher gusts today.

Sorry to hear about your health, hope everything works out for you. How is ol'Anacortes anyway. I was stationed up in Bellingham from 06-2010. The family liked it up there... when the sun decided to play along.

If your going to be passing out free beer Herk, that might be worth the drive for a weekend of camping.

We have been out only twice last year, we got the Shasta late september. The furthest we've been was Association Island (now a KOA) near Watertown NY. Fantastic place. On an island attached by a causeway, the whole island is the resort for RV and a marina.

This year, we have planned
20th april 3 nights : North Pole RV in NY state
May: Samuel de Champlain Provincial park Near North Bay Ontario for 5 nights
june: ?
july: Lake George RV Park for 5 nights
Aug: PEI (unsure where yet) and Parrsoborro Nova Scotia RV park 14 days trip
Sep: ?

We are both a little nervous about the trips, not having towed very much but we will get the hang of it and make it work
We have 3 small dogs, 1 chihuahua, 1 sheltie and one mutt chihuahua/terrier/australian cattle dog

You will like it, we have been there several times as our daughter goes to Mankato State and she loves to camp as well so works out best for all. I really enjoy the state parks, you can never go wrong. I thought about New Ulm, it looks nice on the web site. Have Fun!!

Well, we made it back from our maiden voyage with the new camper and had no problems whatsoever other than the kitchen table is starting to split on the end. Stopped by the dealer and they have ordered a new one already, should be here in about 2 wks. Think we are going to enjoy the 5th wheel better than the tongue trailer if that is possible. It tows a lot smoother and definitely is not affected by passing semis, etc like the tongue trailer. Now to get used to the added height. The tonneau cover worked great, have to open up the area around the 5th wheel pinbox about 1/2" more on both sides to allow for more side to side tilting. Now to make that mod and then take it to get it covered in naugahyde.

Took our new camper out last weekend for a 4 day weekend and a first trip to break it in and all went well with no troubles at all (whew). camper pulls awesome, but it aint wind friendly, as im guessing the lighter weight and the camper sits a little higher than the old one, had alot to do with but its nothing i cant deal with, i think were really going to enjoy this camper for along time

Just returned from Lake Texoma outside of Durant, OK. This is site 15 at Johnson Creek Campground (COE). About 20 feet above the lake with an unobstructed view. This was paradise!
