So, Where ya going on first trip this year?

It's that time of year in many part of the country where spring is breaking and RVers are getting excited about their planned trips. Thought it would be fun to share plans on the first outting...or best outting planned so far.

We will be breaking in at our seasonal RV resort for first full year and enjoying the new TT, lake, golf course, pool, tennis courts, and of course, Awesome neighbors! We Can't Wait!!!! Just over two more weeks till opening day of the season.

Will miss getting around though. We've been to many awesome places in the Midwest..Michigan, Ohio, Indiana mainly.

Hope to hear of your trips! Should be fun to talk about. Are you Excited or What?!!!

This will be our first full season with the TT. Long Easter weekend will take us from our home just south of Kansas City to Lake Texoma on the Oklahoma/Texas state line. Right on the lake and just over three weeks away.

We are taking a short trip to Lake of the Ozarks (US Army Campground) just about 40 miles from home for our first and shakedown of the new FW over Easter Weekend!! So long as the FW is here by then.

I am backed into the drive, ready to line up on the TT tomorrow. We are taking our first trip in our TT to a state park about 25 miles from home. It is going to be a shake down cruise....then we venture out a little further as the year progresses. Can't wait, the fridge is in the cool down mode.

We have that on our list this year too! Can't wait to explore Cypress Hills! Our first trip in May will be to Fairmont Hot Springs in the Invermere valley for the May long weekend.

Unfortunately we have to be a bit more patient here in Canada. You never know where that last big dump of snow is lurking!

Arches National Park

We had so much fun last year with the kids in Arches for Spring break, we are doing it again. Staying in the Devils Garden Campground in the park.

Taking possession of 2012 25DS on April 7.
First scheduled outing is May 11-13. My DW and I are meeting my Brother and his DW in Navoo, IL. (destination chosen by the DW's).

Nothing more planned definitely as I am not yet retired, (DW is). but our plans are to hit state parks in 150 mile radius of our east cost of Iowa location as many weekends as possible this summer.

Already Been on First Trip

Already made the first trip of 2012 to Top Sail State Park in Santa Rosa Beach, FL Jan 1, 2012. Headed to Wind Creek State Park near Alex City, AL this weekend. Should be great camping weather highs in the low 80's lows in the mid 50's. Can't wait.

First trip will be a short one - using the TH as a base camp for a 24 h mountain bike race in Spokane over Memorial Day. After that we have a 2+ week road trip en route to DC. Plan to do some biking, hiking and fly fishing in UT/CO then off to GA to hike the first few miles of the AT. Great way to relax post-PhD.

My wife and I are going to join my cousin and his wife at Hells Gate State Park near Lewiston, ID in mid-April. The area celebrates the Dogwood Festival at that time of year when the area’s numerous dogwood trees are in bloom. The warmer temperatures at Lewiston (only 700 feet above sea level) provide a welcome respite from the cool spring temperatures that normally prevail at higher elevations.

I've been to the Dogwood festival on a few occasions - good times.

Also spend time at Hells Gate since their trails stay open for biking pretty much year round.

Enjoy!

This will be our first full season as TT owners. We bought a Palomino T-829 vfks last fall. Sat in it in the driveway last weekend and decided that I want to spend my birthday at the end of the month camping somewhere! De-winterizing tomorrow and heading about 40 miles west to Williamsburg, VA. Going to try out the American Heritage RV park for a few days. I can't wait!!!
