Solar/Generator

I was camping with a buddy this weekend and he asked if he could have his Zamp panel hooked up while running his generator. Never dawned on me to do that so didn’t know. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Thanks

Why not. My panels are connected all the time whether on genny or shore power. The controller handles it just fine, as with the converter.

the panels don't care, why should we? if the onboard generator is running, and the Charger is on, then it will provide charging, and the solar Controller will back off any incoming solar amps, just as it does when the batteries are fully charged.

Absolutely yes, as long as the solar panel has a charge controller connected.

Solar charge controllers are designed to handle another charger feeding the batteries at the same time. Most other converters/chargers are not, and will "confuse" each other.
