speaker upgrade done

Saturday was an amazing day here on the east coast.

So I filled the SXS and hit the trails with the Mrs. beside me.

Sunday was equally as nice and i decided to upgrade the outdoor speakers to get away from the drive through sound.

Originals were 5.5 and the new Jensens are 6.5 inch

took about an hour but they sound amazing.

Did you have to open up the holes to fit the new speakers?

had to cut them to the new size
i used a jig saw and a fine tooth blade once masking taped off. this time i went beyond the area to be cut out because doing this for the BBQ line pass through ended up scuffing the finish with the base plate on the saw.

I also had to cut the panelling in behind the original speakers whereas the new ones were deeper.
Notched the panelling to see if there were water or electrical lines behind it. Heater vent tubing was but lower than the opening.

vacuumed the insulation foam beads up and installed new speakers.
