Yikes. Did you buy it locally? It must have been outdoors on the lot. That would be quite upsetting to find on a new trailer.
ETA: That's also why we don't buy vehicles from up north

Probably delivered to the dealer in the winter.
The Midwest uses salt and lots of it!

Hose it down with some PB Blaster. Better than WD40 in my book.

Service Mgr. said they towed it to Wisconsin in January but swears they washed it down. I think he is a liar.

Perhaps, they may have "washed it down" but did NOT wash up under it.....

Looks to me like they delivered it when there was salt on the roads. Yes they likely washed it down but only the siding etc and not the underbelly.

Use fluid film on it, buy it @ lowes. Stays wet and thick for years or put grease or used oil to it.

Preventative maintenance...I painted electrical "grease" over all my 12volt nuts and threads....Also all the slide adjustments have grease applied over all the threaded rods/bolts . I then applied a piece of neoprene tubing (split down centre) over threaded portion.....then a tie wrap to hold it in place Oh yes,all those electrical wires in the box-----I cut off the connectors and soldered all the joints together....I do not expect trouble down the road.....Takes time but..............

I would replace the switch. Might be a way to find another location to keep salt off it.

That could be the result of galvanic corrosion and not have anything to do with salt. Galvanic corrosion results when two dissimilar metals are joined and electric current passes through them. Electrical greases may help. The best solution would be for all terminals, lugs, and wiring to be copper.

Isn't it wonderful how nature and slow witted engineers help you out? I see a lot of this and clean up all items and then spray them with battery post spray protectant for a done deal
