We stay there a couple times a year. It's just a short distance from Columbus, and it's a great place to stay. Can't wait to take the new camper there this year. Have you ever been to Lazy River, it's a private campground, but very friendly.

We haven't been to Lazy River. We keep saying we need to try some private campgrounds. I will keep that one in mind. Thanks.

Our home state of Missouri has some great state parks we have 4 parks no more then a hour drive from our house, and the ozarks will take your breath away in the fall, but have stayed at private parks also mostly KOA. just depends on the trip

State and National Parks, for the most part. In general, I stay at private parks only if I'm attending a Rally or group get-together, or some special occasion. Mostly, I get out to relax and enjoy the outdoors, not to tour or sight-see.

We stay at KOA, private and have done provincial parks as well. Our stays are usually dictated by what we want to do and what one is closest to the center of our intended travels. So we really have no preference.

National Parks, US Forest Service, Army Corp, TVA, State Parks are our preferred choice. We will do private if the others are not nearby to a destination or activity. We like the woods and natural feel of many public campgrounds. So many private CGs are barren wastelands of asphalt and grass.

We do mostly state parks (TX), but there is a very nice city park close to home that we frequently camp at.
