Private parks mostly. We have been to a couple of state parks and FAMCAMPS as well.

Mostly Texas state parks, $20 a night with water and electric. The parks We have stayed in the showers have been very clean and the water is HOT. When we are out of state in is mostly commercial.

We stay at mostly private campgrounds, a few state but never never never in any KOA. We have stayed at a few KOA and got nothing but bad experiences.

We stay at both State Parks, and Private Campgrounds. I like both. There are a lot of nice state parks to visit. We try each year to find new places to go.

Another vote for state park campgrounds, the nicest campground I have ever seen was a SP in Fla. I seem to be very disappointed every time we stay in a private CG. Our local SP CG are very nice and great for those stay-cations.
I'd rather seek forgiveness than ask permission

State Parks as much as possible. Many on beautiful lakes, very hard to beat.

State Parks, US Forest Service Recreation areas and National Parks. If the private campground is nice with trees and a woodsy feel we will go for it.

State and National Parks, almost exclusively.

we stay at private parks/KOA-type only once a year. usually they are the ones at casinos.

Ohio state parks for my wife and I. Our favorite is Deer Creek in Central Ohio.
