Stewart/Hyder

Wanting to go back to Alaska in 2017 if everything falls in place. Wife wants to see the grizzley bears feed on salmon at the boardwalk in Hyder, AK. Last week in June was too early last time.
When do the salmon return and the bears show up?

Thanks. Went in 2014. Wife never saw a grizzle bear. Even took her to the zoo in Anchorage---no grizzle! We did take a float plane ride to the south and landed on a remote lake. That was well worth the $375.

Um........Grizzly Bears are huge. And carnivorous. And the 2nd fastest land mammal in N. America. And they swim. And climb.

Just sayin'..........

i most definately will maintain my distance! Those are some bad, bad boys. There is a fantastic viewing area northeast of Hyder. Very sturdy elevated boardwalk that is built beside a small river/creek. This road also leads to the Salmon glacier. Beautiful area.
