Stuck in Colorado

So we left Florida almost 3 weeks ago to travel the southwest. We stopped in Gunnison, Colorado for 2 days and intended to move on. It has now been a week here and there seems to be no place as cool and comfortable. We watch the news and every place seems to be 20 degrees hotter. Oh well, the campground office told me my spot is open for the next few days. Darn, more riding the beautiful roads of Colrado in comfort.

The wife and the Harley are both happy with the Work and Play 18EC. So for now at least, life is good.

As long as you stay away from the fires. Have fun and enjoy, I feel SOOOOO sorry you have to go thru such a terrible venture. See ya in FL this winter.

Are the fires impacting your trip as far as smoke/flame while riding/touring? We were going out for the ProCycling Challenge in AUG but are thinking we my wait until next year for things to green back up. Our thinking is most of the CG in the CO Sprng area will be used to house locals as many were didplaced due to the fires. Gunnison is one of the spots we want to go, however. Thanks.

We left Colorado for Utah on Saturday. We were not impacted at all by the fire or smoke. We did see some smoke off in the distance while on I-25 near Denver but that was about it. We did hear that they were getting them under control.

Colorado was great! I would not hesitate to go this year along as the area you are going was not impacted. We hated to leave. Currently at Brice Canyon and it sure is pretty. But much warmer in the sun.

Check out Spooky Canyon while you are in the Bryce area. Nice hike in some wind and water warn canyons. Take lots of water.
