stupid question

I have a 2016 wildwood 241qbxl x-light dealer said I can't get on roof without boards across it. I was looking at it today and the roof is bowed. So how do I inspect clean, and maintain it?

I understand I can't get up there but how to do it is the question. I can't place boards across it due to the radius on the roof

I have never heard the board thing. Just wash with a long brush and water hose and inspect what you can see.

I climb and walk on mine twice a year for inspection and cleaning roof vents screens and a/c. Having a ladder or not does not make any difference IMO.

Someone's been up there. AC, roof vents, antenna, ect got installed somehow. Wear soft soled shoes, walk easy, no jumping. You will be fine. I go at least twice a year on mine, no ladder installed.

No problem with walking on your roof.. it should not hurt anything....... Mine been walked on a lot...... several time a year. No ladder other than the extension ladder used to get up there......

We have a Wildwood and I use an 8' step ladder to inspect the roof. I use a brush on a handle to clean. If I need to get on the roof I use a 1" mechanics pad to disburse weight and able to lie/sit on the pad; I do not and have not needed to walk on the roof. To date the only requirement to get on the roof is to install/remove the AC cover, and I use the pad. The pad is also used if I have to lay under the TT for maintenance.

Can you lay lumber front to back? Then step from one to the other to go from side to side.?

My trailer does not have a ladder. I contacted the manufacturer and asked if I could get on the roof. They said for occasional maintenance....yes. For parties, no.

Old wives tale, IMHO.

When I ordered my Mini Lite, the ladder was an option (which I got). I highly doubt they strengthen the roof if your order the ladder!

Not necessarily. Ladder is a factory option on many units.

Correct. Let me add to that stay away from any openings cut into the roof, as it weakens the roof somewhat. AC units, vents, etc. And watch your step...it gets slippery when wet.

If you look in the brochure on page 11 it says full walk on roof.

Dealer has not been doing there homework. LOL
