MY RETIREMENT PAPERS......

Submitted my request for the City I work for to buy out 2 years of my retirement to take me to 25 years of service.
I need the figures to give to the City Manager to ascertain if the City Council will buy me out.
So far I'm getting good feedback and feel they will grant the request.

Fingers crossed

Good luck!

I retired from my municipality 4 1/2 years ago after serving for 35+ years. Didn't have to worry about a buy out.

Don't miss it a bit!

Good luck on your request. I retired 4 years ago at the age of 58 after 36 years on the job. Last day of work I came home, took my watch off and set it on my dresser. It's been there ever since .

I retired 3 years ago, as Assistant City Administrator after 18 1/2 years in municipal government.
I've never looked back one day. I stay up late. Sleep in...do stuff...do nothing!
I've had my illnesses...heart stents, cancer, diabetes, and depression. My only son/child was killed by a drunk driver

I receive good Ss, municipal retirement, and my investment income from my pre retirement planning...and all I have is paid for. Retirement is definitely good if you have enough income, to do the things you want yo do!....

My advice, plan for retirement!!!

Stay healthy everyone...

Anyone have a good tip on healthcare with good rates. If I take the City plan my premium is about 440.00 a month just for me. Add the wife it goes to 1400.00. I'm thinking I'll go with the 440.00 for me and shop a plan for the wife.

Try AARP. I beleive it is through Aetna. Have used them for 8 years now for our health insurance. Very good rates,

Congrats on your upcoming retirement. I wish you many camping adventures where you go whenever you want and return whenever you want.

If all goes as planned (so far we're on track) I'll be retiring in April of 2016. So just about 1 3/4's of a year from now.

I'll have 23 3/4 years in with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
