Sunlights

On our Rockwood 2703WS the sunlight over the kitchen is an incredible source of heat in the summer. Is there any kind of tinting our over for it to lessen the amount of heat?

I've read about exterior paints on the dome and stained glass contact paper on the inside.

I had a piece of white foam board laying around the garage that I screwed to the frame of my bathroom skylight. So far it has worked good. Still let's a little light through but helps knock down the heat. I originally tried Velcro and glue but it wouldn't hold up.

I have the skylight shade on my kitchen skylight from the factory but it still lets in a ton of heat and light as well. I would recommend either foam insulation or some sort of reflective barrier for the heat as stated above. A do it yourself is probably your best choice.

Saw a post a while back where a metallic lined car sunshade was cut to fit and had velcro added to hold it in place, was pretty slick and very practical in my opinion.
