I pack everything, but I forgot that I took one of the campground chairs out of the bay for some reason. So tomorrow when we take the dogs and the Jeep to explore Encinitas, I will be looking to buy a beach chair. Oh well, as least we have food!

San Elijo SB and Encinitas are two of my favorite places in the world.

San Elijo is one of our favorites. Carlsbad is another good one, so is San Clemente SB.

We drove up the Hwy. 101 a few miles just sightseeing the town and neighborhoods yesterday as far north as Carlsbad. We saw that campground. Might give it a try for reservations.

The campground is full, which is typical at So. CA beaches. Odd thing to me however is how many schoolage kids there are this week. No holidays either. I guess being a retired teacher I notice things like that. Maybe these kids are all home schooled?

There is NO off-season for SoCal beach campsites.
Especially the ones with hookups.

Our site #144 was at the last of the north end, across from the ocean bluff spots, and backed to the main Hwy. 101. Too noisy and dirty. I am canceling next months 4 nights reservation. Before we drove out yesterday we looked at that spot, #120 on the south end. It is in a double loop, further from the bluff at 4'rows back and again, against the hiway. No thanks! Website campground maps are OK, but you never really know what someplace is like until you go. I will still try to get bluff ocean view in the future though. I will post some pics soon.
