Deer Hunting season for firearms begins Saturday; heading down to Staunton MO for a weekend of hunting for my DH & son. And yup the weather is supposed to be close to 70.

We winterized a few weeks ago (for practice and just in case), so we'll have to winterize again after next weekend.

Old Highway 86 C.O.E. campground is being totally reworked with new sites added, and the others rebuilt. It is not only alot closer to Branson, but will rival Mill Creek C.G. as far sites right on the water. I stopped at the old Dewey Short visitors center where the Corps office is located and personally thank the parks director for The Table Rock Lake Project on their great work. We are very spoiled here with all the great sites and how the Corps makes sure grass is mowed, restrooms always nice, and they have a contract with the county sheriffs' office to cruise through twice a day, giving us piece of mind that no one can make their own rules(loudness or whatever) during the camping season.
We've stayed at Campbell Point and loved it. Had reservations at Mill creek but it was flood so we went to Baxter I think. We also camp up at Pomme de Terre and Truman Lake.......... I agree we live in a great state for camping
Hope to see you on the road one day.

have lived here long enough... can get snow anytime now. We will have the dealer winterize for us (since we are still in our 12 month window) and won't flush the system til about the end of March. I hope you have good weather down here for your trip! Which route are you taking to Branson?
