Greetings Earth Station!, We're excited here in the S.W. part of the state as the Corps Of Engineers are constructing more sites to open around Table Rock Lake here. We stayed again at Campbell Point C.O.E. campground at Shell Knob last weekend, and there are several new sites that will open next spring. Very nice and everything brand new! Old Highway 86 C.O.E. campground is being totally reworked with new sites added, and the others rebuilt. It is not only alot closer to Branson, but will rival Mill Creek C.G. as far sites right on the water. I stopped at the old Dewey Short visitors center where the Corps office is located and personally thank the parks director for The Table Rock Lake Project on their great work. We are very spoiled here with all the great sites and how the Corps makes sure grass is mowed, restrooms always nice, and they have a contract with the county sheriffs' office to cruise through twice a day, giving us piece of mind that no one can make their own rules(loudness or whatever) during the camping season.
