Taking 5er in for service
Do you just leave everything in the unit while repairs are made at dealer or is it advisable to remove certain items like basement tv and other added items.
Thanks for advice....

I would only remove items if they were going to get in the way of the repairs.

when shipping the trailer back to the factory for major repairs, we took everything out but otherwise generally leave everything in the fiver.

We are getting a new roof membrane, and we pulled out the smaller items that were valuable. Not that I don't trust my dealer or his guys, but why tempt someone?  Clothes, dishes, books, decor' items, bathroom stuff, all stayed in the unit. Pulled out hand held radios, scanner, tire pressure monitor, etc. Things that are stored loose inside waiting for next trip.

However, our fiver was in the shop for body work. The work was just about done when I got a call telling me 4 trailers at the shop were broken into. Mine was cleaned out...TV, hunting knife, flatware, cooking knives, bet pillows (?) etc. all gone. Most shops have a sign up saying they aren't responsible for loss of content. Our shop reimbursed me, no questions asked, but that may be a rarity.

This is what we do also if we are taking it to a big box store with lots of employees. Take out anything we don't want to lose or can't replace easily. If we are taking it to our very small independent guy (Affordable RV/Marine) we leave most stuff as is.

Clean out refer.We took new trailer in for warrenty stuff,told foreman refer had foodin it,no prob he said we keep them plugged in.A week later we got a call telling us that everything in freezer was running down front onto floor.We had not even used the trailer yet.Trust no one.

We always take out the "tempting" items from the trailer. Tool box, valuables, satellite dish, etc. if someone wants my kitchen utensils, clothes, intense, etc, then they need them more than I do.
