Talk about water problems!!!

While loading for the first trip of the season. DH drained all the anti-freeze out of the unit. While I was in loading and cleaning I turned on the kitchen faucet(to clean out the lines) and the sprayer handle sprayed water all over the kitchen. So I turned the bathroom faucet on (again to clean out the lines) and....it too sprayed all over the bathroom. Not to be out done I got ready to take a shower and yes you guessed it the oxygenics head cracked down the back. It too sprayed all over the bathroom..... New kitchen faucet, new bathroom faucet and put back on the shower head that came with the trailer...... IF THESE ARE THE ONLY PROBLEMS THIS YEAR I WILL BE HAPPY.

Sounds like the anti-freeze didn't anti-freeze any of the faucets. Sorry to hear of your problems.

Was the RV antifreeze fresh or was it reused?
RV antifreeze does go bad if opened and not used.

He could also not have run the antifreeze under pressure till pink came out of each outlet (faucet or shower wand). Have you checked the toilet valve yet?

I hope no expensive damage was done.
Good luck

Yeah, if you have a foot-operated toilet valve, definitely check it.

I used the blow-out method and never had a problem with my old TT with a hand-operated valve (it didn't trap water above the valve). While winterizing in the fall, I got all the water out of it but when I came back from Florida in March, I didn't do a good enough job rewinterizing and it cracked in the winter that was still going on here. Was spraying a nice jet on the bathroom floor. Not a nice find when your first trip is the next morning... had to drive all over the place to find a replacement - 60km away (after a few wild goose chases too) and half an hour before closing!

We did get pink stuff through all faucets including the toilet. They faucets where new 2 years ago as well as the shower head. The anti-freeze was new and we used 2 or 3 bottles. Thinking that IF we have to winterize this year we are going to remove the faucets and put the lines in a bucket..LOL At least the faucets won't freeze again.

I like the blow and antifreeze method. It may be like belt and suspenders, but haven't had an issue.

We live in Wisconsin where the winters are plenty long and cold. We have used the blow-out method for several years on 2 different TT without any problems. We just systematically go from one end of the camper to the other making sure that all water is out of the water heater first, do cold water valves and toilets, showers, sinks and then move to hot water valves. Also we have low point drains that I leave open and finally, we add RV to all traps, drains and to the toilets. Never have had an issue.

Use a water heater bypass kit for the filter. The type with 2 valves from camco. I got this tip from my dealer, Rousseau's RV.

Before you put any antifreeze in place the jug in the freezer overnight. If it freezes and expands you may have a bad batch of antifreeze. I've seen posts of defective stuff hitting the market.

That would probably work Choo Choo,,, if you had room to install it,,, I was think there was a by-pass plug made,,, like the plug you can get to by-pass a Refrigerator filter !

Maybe it is just something I have dreamed up !!!
I will in the future make Damm sure the canister in empty after blowing Sys. out !!!
