Television Speaker

Proud owner of a '13 Rockwood 2604. Took it on our first trip and loved it.

Problem is with the television sound. Bought with flat screen already mounted. When ac is running we can barely hear it even if volume is all the way up.

Looked at sound bars, but they all seem to be too long. Rep said the surround sound could only be used with dvds and not just tv. Any suggestions?''

thanks

What sound system do you have in your TT?

The stereo/dvd player is a Genesis. Rep said it couldn't be used with just the tv. We couldn't find any way to "connect" (via remotes...not literally) the stereo speaker with the tv.

Rep said that when you put a dvd in the switch happens automatically. Seems to me if it works when the tv is playing a dvd it should work with just the tv. But he (rep) so no.

How do you set yours up? Keep in mind I'm not in the least techy

I'm certainly no expert on this stuff, but I think all your missing is a set of leads to connect the audio out on the TV to an input on the stereo unit. You should be able to have surround sound for TV by switching the stereo to that input, whatever it is...Aux, AV1...

X2 on what he said... On my Genesis I think I set it on AV2 for TV surround sound. If AV2 don't work try AU2. Also check out this link from herk...
How to use Genesis GT 3.0
It has a wiring diagram and a pdf with the manual. The manual is not very good, but it might help...

Our TV did not have an output, so we had the TV wired to the stereo speakers. Now we have switches to play the TV on back 2 speakers, front speakers, outside speakers or all at 1 time. The sound did come out the back of TV and was way to loud in the back of the camper, but hard to hear in the front. Now we can play it on the speakers right above our chairs. Love it.

I plugged into the headphone port on the t.v. and then to the speakers for the radio/stereo. When you do this, you have to go into the t.v. menu and turn off the internal speakers. The t.v. does not have the power to run both. Ours sound great coming from all the speakers.

Just got in a little while ago and saw your thread, glad you got it sorted.

We spent a couple of hours in Best Buy yesterday before they finally found a 32" TV like I was looking for on their computer, couldn't find one on display. Most of them didn't have the headphone jack, and/or the dimensions wouldn't work.

This morning I moved the bracket for the factory installed TV to the bedroom, and installed the new TV utilizing the cable from the headphone jack to the RV stereo....
