The Best Built Camper Out There ???????
Ok, we all know that there is not a perfect camper out there, they all have there issues. We are starting to look and while my wife was checking things out she came across an article that said Forest River was the best quality built in the industy. Does any one know any different? I have had two camper the first one was a 2000 Fleetwood, bought it new and for five years and had not one problem, bought a Forest River in 2006 and the story could continue.......

This is the 2nd Forest River I've had and am pretty pleased. Best built?? Very subjective.

We also had a Fleetwood (Prowler, which we sold recently) for a number of years and now FR Cherokee and no problems with either one.

Maybe it's not necessarily a brand name, but rather how the factory workers feel that day.

I am assuming that when you ask about "best built" , you mean quality. Quality is a measureable indicator and is not subjective. There are manufacturers that build campers with quality as their top goal. They use superior materials, superior construction techniques, superior quality control measures. (the Germans come to mind in auto building) . With all these quality indicators in place there are a few trade offs that must be considered. Materials are heavier, labor costs increase, etc. This usually translates to a heavier and more expensive product. Since those units are way out of my budget, I have no idea what products they are. That is why I shopped around for the less expensive market which brought me to Forest River. The camper I purchased was light weight and affordable. As a result I settled for the Chevy. I could not afford the mercedes benz. I am happy with my Flagstaff but as sure as a bear shiqs in the woods, I will be disgruntled if I start having problems. I know I didn't answer your question directly, I'm not qualified.

Agree totally, talk to 2 people with the same trailer and you will many times get 2 different stories of how they feel the quality of their unit is. Ours is great as are many more but there will always be the duds. The old saying never buy a monday morning or Friday afternoon vehicle hold true, if only you could pick the day yous was built.

Who wrote the article, Warren Buffett?
Airstream makes some mighty nice trailers, pricey but well built and designed to last a long, long time.

When I'm in fantasy land and feeling wishful, I browse on the Airstream site.
