The DW

I've seen several of the male posters refer to their mate as "the DW". The DW guides the trailer while the male backs in the site, makes coffee etc, etc. Being somewhat internet and texting illiterate, I've been speculating as to the true meaning of "the DW'. It could mean "Darling Wife"? If you're from NJ, it could mean "Da Wife"?. My "DW" thinks it must mean "Dish Washer". There are many possibilities.

Finally I decided to Google and find the true meaning. It wasn't easy; there were few references to "the DW". Finally, I found it and it makes more nervous than before. Ok here it is; word for word:

DW

an extremely nasty female. 2. a worshiper of the Devil (devil worshiper).

I kid you not; here's the link:

Definition of DW | The Online Slang Dictionary

Now, I don't know any of the people behind this forum. Forest River sounds like nice family, fun name and the posters and administrators are very helpful, but is this some kind of cult? If I go to one of the rallys am I in some danger? Is there any animal sacrifice going on? There's been a lot of talk about dog etiquette, but are the poor pooches being mistreated? I could lay awake at night thinking of the possibilities. In fact I recently heard about a dyslexic, insomniac agnostic who stayed awake all night wondering if there was "Dog".

I want to learn more about your "DW's".

I know how you feel, but I had to find out once and for all. As they say: "fools rush in where angels fear to tread". If the DW's are really devil worshipers, then it calls for some investigation of the subject.

Ok, I'll look for the thread. In the meantime there's a few more.

Dark Wizard, Dedicated Wife, Deputy Warden and Disaster Warning (good one especially if she's helping you back in a tight spot),

I think if I called my wife a dear or darling anything she would hit me, because she would be able to read right through that nonsense coming from me.

This whole thread brings up the age old question....If a man is alone in the woods is he still wrong?

I once had a T shirt that read:

"If a man speaks all alone in the middle of the woods is he still wrong?"

Until I wore it out, I had countless women stop me to read the shirt and everyone w/o exception would then say emphatically: "YES". In a way it was kinda of a chick magnet, but I got to thinking: "If they say ''yes" is that really the kind of woman I would want? Moot point anyway since I've been happily married for 35 years; which isn't bad out of 43 and counting.

I too wondered what DW stood for and actually found this page by searching DW. I had guessed it meant Da Wife!

Now for DH- dump station helper. Nope. I want to live another day and helping with the dump station isn't in my DW vocabulary!

My DW only ever agreed to the RV purchase under the condition that she never has to touch anything even remotely related to emptying the waste tanks.

Well I can say for sure it is not Devil Worshipper but you do not want to tick her off because you will certainly think you have come face to face with the Devil

I'm no longer using DW to refer to my wife. She is the CFO-chief financial officer and keeper of the checkbook and credit cards.

The term I've always liked - but never use in her presence - is SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed). British TV show in origin.
