Things those "Go RVing" videos DON'T show you.

That sooner rather than later, you'll have to handle dumping the black tank.

So what's your favorite hidden reality about camping that those promotional things don't show?

Black tank maintenance. Also, setting up in the dark or while it's raining (just had to do that last night )

Those little suckers go thru screens like water goes thru a hose!!!

That there are very few places (at least in the Northeast) that you are going to find to camp without anyone else around you...

That the hose clamp on the free, cheap sewer hose the dealer gives you will fail during your first black tank dump.

When we picked up our new camper last year we left the "starter kit" there with the dealer, we already had everything we needed.

Picking out our TT then finding out about all the extras we needed to buy. That was almost another grand.

Backing a camper in a tight spot when you're not so good at it and there are people everywhere watching you and commenting on your progress. Hooking up a weight distribution hitch. Leveling your camper on a very unlevel site...trying to figure out why this isn't working and that isn't working.....and the list goes on!

We favor the term, "Flying teeth". Yes, their best left outside.

Kind of sure we have spent more than a K for the stuff we have that is for the lite only.

I think it has been money well spent...

Boat people, see this same phenomenon at the boat launch on a regular basis.

They don't tell you it's an addiction, and that after buying your first one you should STAY AWAY from your dealer's sells lot and RV shows!

I look outside and see the reason I have stayed away from RV shows and the dealers lot.
I like what I have, I think I'll keep it.

Or that sick feeling you get...

When you get stuck in the yard backing into your garage.

No, I didn't take pictures. I have the evidence on the ground.

Pulled into a campground and was assigned a spot, pulled up and had to back RV (CC36RE) between two other units. A group of people where setting around a camp fire across the way and before backing unit in I went over and told everyone to give me $1.00 that if I was going to provide the evenings entertainment they where going to have to pay. I made $5.00 for the show and meet some wonderful friends.

Watching the camper (with wife and kids inside) roll down a sloping campsite because I forgot to chock the wheels before I took it off the ball hitch. All this in a downpour. All are ok by the way. Kids loved the "ride"
