We had arrived at our campground for some needed relaxing time when another pop-up camper family pulled into next to us (no problem) they must have had four kids pile out of their camper (again no problem). So as campers usually do mom and dad got to setting up and the kids hurried around waiting for the go play command.
Mom and dad did a great job with setting things up and finally give the kids the command to go play so they could have a little quite time. After the kids took off mom and dad disappeared into the camper, well in their haste they had forgotten to put down the legs on the back of the camper. This would have been their side of the camper. I can only assume things where going splendidly because of what happened next.
We where all sitting by the fire having a beer when all of the sudden the pop up tips up on the back side and dad comes popping out from the canvas (naked of course) and the camper slams back down to the ground. Again being they must have experience with kids intruding they had locked the camper door. Poor old dad couldn't get that door open fast enough.
There was no way all of us could not laugh because it was just funny, we did not heckle or applaud just laughed a bit.
It must have been to much for them because shortly after things calmed down mom went and got the kids, dad packed the camper and off they went. Felt bad for them that they felt the need to depart, we know where them four kids came from after all.
I would have come out and taken a bow!

Yeah, Germans tend to have a different approach to campgrounds. More like parking lots. For me though, it was all about location. despite it being a parking lot, this was one of my favorites: Campingplatz "Tauberromantik" - Für Wohnmobile, Caravans und Zelte

Onsite restaurant and bar, good showers and when you register, you sign up for a fresh bread delivery in the morning. cannot beat fresh kaisers for breakfast.

Looks like Myrtle Beach. Bet it's completely full right now. We only go in winter due to lack of crowds, but never saw one of the mega-parks THAT empty.

It took Mathew to empty it out. Yes it is Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach. and yes they are all booked for the summer......... we prefer the winter too but MB is fast becoming a year round destination

Yes, there's no real off season anymore. We like MB Travel Park in winter. Have stayed at Ocean Lakes and really liked it, too.

It's crowded, but is still the best option for our family!

Moving in up this year. Stayed over Memorial Day weeekend in the 4000 section with a pad! Staying 10 days end of July beginning of August in the 3000 section with a pad! Also have about 20 nights booked next year all with pads!

Moving on up!

We are leaving out today and stayed at site 2089 right next to the beach. It was a little too loud for me with the golf cart redneck parade right next to my camper every evening. We will be back but will probably stay in the 3000 section.

We toured Pirateland and Lakewood to see how they compared and it was no comparison. Lakewood was run down and looked like a redneck trailer park. Not too mention, they had the rudest security that tirned me off immediately. I went to get a looking pass and someone pulled right up behind me. The guard motioned for the car to go around. He was unable due to his closeness to the back of my car so I told the guard I was going tonpull up about 5 feet. As soon as I inched forward, the guard started screaming at me. My DW was even appalled at his actions and she is ALOT more tolerant than me.

Pirateland was ok but Ocean Lakes had more appeal to me.

We almost always stay in the 3000 or 4000 sections during the summer months.
