Might have to take back my: "When an electric car is capable of towing my camper 10 hours in one day I'll buy one" statement.

An electric car would make one heck of a boondocking battery ... although not the lightest toad.

On the other hand ... they are starting to put up these charging stations in grocery store parking lots and elsewhere ... now, to someone with a 30- or 50-amp connector looking to plug in (there is nobody here on the FR forums with a 30- or 50-amp plug ...) Isn't that sort of like a swimming pool without a fence around it ???

Not really surprisingly, something similar has already been tried....

Skip to 4:00 in the video and you can see a Model X beat an Alfa Romeo 4C. While towing a trailer with an Alfa Romeo 4C on it. Oh and the 4c does 0-60 sub 4.5s

I just read a blog post that someone did take a salvaged electric car battery and converted it to be a 48V battery bank for their RV.

Very cool video! That Tesla X with a base price of $89k isn't that unreasonable when compared to the competition. Still out of reach for most of us, but an impressive piece of engineering nonetheless.

Good to know at least 001 got it. Probably somewhere between A and 14 that didn't get it, based on the number of people actively keeping up with this thread.
