Pink Cadillac Hauling Airstream

Coming back from a Campsite in New Brunswick Canada today saw a Pink Cadillac with large rear fins hauling a fairly Airstream. What I wouldn't have given for a picture of that.

Look back on page 79, I saw one of these at a campground in PEI Canada earlier this year.

I'd be interested in the model number and brand.

KEYSTONE OUTBACK 27L LOFT, discontinued in 2010
Pretty cool, rear stairway to tent loft. Soft cushioned, screen room folded down to bed.

Wow! That's a new XLR Thunderbolt. Takes nerve (and cash) to paint up a new rig.

Things people do

I saw this at the track Sat. Hard to see but the front axle/wheel has no support and the rear isn't much better.

I actually like that. Many of the heavy equipment dealers sell the matte flat black paint for $50 a gallon, plus $20 for the reducer. The paint goes on super easy and looks great.

I'm thinking 5 to 6 gallon of paint to do that, with at lot of wet sanding by hand and masking tape to apply. If I did that, I would have to paint my pickup the same color too.

Wonder what MAACO would charge to do that?

I asked when that pic was first posted but never got a response.
But I'd bet the owner had it sprayed with the spray and peel coating like Duplicolor makes. Also Plastidip makes the product. You can spray it on and it dries leaving a vinyl like coating. If at any point you don't want it anymore you simply peel it right off. No sanding and minimal masking. They even offer a clear coat.

Here's a link for the product.

I'm thinking the black XLR is done with Plastikote. It will peel right off if need be.

Dynamax has been offering something similar since the beginning of the year for the DX3. Not matte but metallic all black. Also offer a white version as well.

Two New Paint Packages Coming to DX3 in 2017

01-25-2016

Midnight Metallic Special Edition Blackout Package

New for the 2017 model year, Dynamax will be offering two special edition paint packages for its DX3 line of Super C’s. While our artist designed graphics have been a huge hit, we have seen some demand for simpler, more automotive style exteriors. As such, we are proud to introduce the Midnight Metallic and Glacier Metallic Special Edition Black Out Packages. These two packages will offer single color automotive BASF paint along with black powder coated aluminum wheels and trim. As always, these two new colors will undergo the same painstaking process that has made our paint renowned in the industry.
