That brought on the mornings giggles rather quickly.

I unfortunately wasn't able to grab a picture, but I saw a smaller 18-19' camper being towed by a Chevy Colorado pull by me while I was hooking up the trailer to leave the campground. When I noticed at the rear of the camper they had a wheelchair ramp/rack attached to rear bumper by a 2" receiver type hitch. The thing was sagging!

By the time I hooked up and pulled to the dump they were taking off out of the campground and I could see it sagging even more.

Well I finish dumping and head out. Get about 10-15 min down the road and I see their camper pulled to the side of the road with 2 trucks behind them. motorized wheelchair sitting off to the side of the road.

Couldn't tell if it was just dragging or if it actually fell off going down the road.

but YIKES!

My bed slide uses the Schwintek. Exactly what are the issues experienced with this mechanism.

I have Schwinteks in my bunkhouse. I've gone through almost a slide rack/mechanism per year of ownership (4 years, 3 complete rack replacements).

In each instance, the slide would start to chew up the wood under the slide. After that, it would start to get out of sync/of kilter. And then it would finally die a messy death and my slide would be stuck somewhere between in and out. Twice now, I've had motors replaced to get the slides fully in but that wasn't an actual fix. Each time, they've replaced the whole rack.

This time, I got a hint that Lance is adding aluminum runners under the slides where the rollers are. I'm hoping this helps with the initial symptom.

Lippert can suck it.

You don't see these too often anymore. Many, many years ago my father-in-law owned one of these Sears tent campers. This one appeared to be in excellent shape.

There's a few companies making smaller versions of those for motorcycles. The larger ones have a full queen sized bed and a small entry room on the front so you can change clothes standing up.

I saw one of craigslist for $1800 a few weeks ago and SERIOUSLY considered buying it, but I'm running out of room to store something that big that I would only used 1-2 time a year.

I saw this nicely restored camper today. I really wish I could find one to restore.

Cute! These have become very popular here in So.CA. Our neighbor has one from 1970. They are just the 2nd owner. It's hard to see in the pic, but she put a wood tikiClick image for larger version

I have posted about this before. There is a Spartan Manor looking trailer on 82 E near Lewisville Ar. I will try to figure where it is if interested. It doesn't look that bad from the road and complete from the side you see. It's pretty big...prolly 30 ft or so.

That would be a little bigger than I am looking for. I want something less than 20 feet.

That means single axel. Pull one any distance on the highway and figure once is enough. My first two TTs back in the '70s were 18 and 19'. After a 23' double axel I'd never go back. What a reminder--- no AC and it was cramping not camping
