There is a custom shop near us that will install a solid box welded (or otherwise fastened ) to the frame. They will make it as large and heavy-duty as a customer wants. Our RV is a Forest River Forrester.

We haven't done it, at least not yet. We do have an excellent alarm system that can detect motion and the sound of breaking glass, in addition to door sensors, coach and cab. It has a siren for the coach and will send me text and email alerts. Even just pushing on the side or back of the coach will trigger it. Wind does not, at least so far.

I hide my camera, etc, so that it will take a thief a least a minute or so to find it, all while s/he's being entertained by the siren.

I have talked to a few owners who installed recording security cameras in order to have pics of a perp. I like that idea, including something like the "Ring" door monitoring system. With that, I could say "Hello!" to an intruder.

I have a small heavily constructed safe bolted to the floor under the dinette seat for my camera equipment.

I keep all of my camera gear in one of the cabinets of my entertainment center.

Four DSLR's and three mirrorless cameras, along with a bunch of lenses and flash units.

Where I can get at them and grab a shot in five seconds!

Like the shot below (I used to be a photojournalist and like having my gear handy)...

I'd rather they find the stuff easily and move on instead of trashing the inside of my RV looking for stuff and not finding it.
