Time To Winterize

Stopped by Camping World yesterday and picked up some pink anti-freeze for the rig. Our winter trip is coming to and end and we’re heading home. I checked the weather at home and it’s still getting into the twenties at night so I’m going to need to winterize. We’ve been on the road for three months, in the future we just need to make it 4 months, or longer.

Just curious-- what does camping world charge for a gallon
of RV antifreeze?

About $4 a gallon, but it's the good 50 below stuff. Back home in Minnesota I can get it cheaper. Most years I bring it with us, but this year I forgot it.

I did the complete winterazation last fall, with blowing the lines, pumping antifreeze, and then blowing the lines again. I have already started the camping season this year, with the temps. still getting below freezing some nites (last nite, 27 degrees). I don't want to take everything out of the camper, plus do a complete water line winterization at the end of every camping trip, so now I just empty the tanks, blow the lines, leave the cabinet doors open, and pour a little antifreeze down the drains. On cold nites, I run the propane furnace to keep things around 40 degrees. I have the ducted enclosed bottom, so the furnace should keep that fairly warm. Plus I have a set of sting lights on my dump valves......the neighbors sometimes wonder about me.
