Never had an escort, except Goshen before. Been to several GS rally's and they don't even come close to a FROG event but today when we got to this location a young man brought us to our site help back us in to site they grab my wheel blocks and placed them he then pulled my 8x8 blocks for leveling jacks and placed them. He made sure we where hooked up and had power and water before he ask "Is there anything else you might need". I took the time to thank him and also tipped him and it was worth it.

No way I could handle it that. I do my own setting up. I actually left a gas station in Kentucky one time because it was full service. I don't like people messing with my stuff.

I'm surprised so few have encountered site escorts. I'd say about a third of the parks we've visited over the years have them. Some do it to protect their property; others do it just to be helpful....or both. Frankly, my wife and I do better backing into a site when we're left alone, and we prefer that.

At one park the guy led us to the site, then said, "I'll be glad to help you, but if you and your wife have your own system for backing in, I'll leave you alone." We thanked him profusely and politely sent him on his way. I guess it never occurred to us to offer him a tip.

I see escorts mostly at the KOA campgrounds, and then it is around popular weekends like holidays. They usually only lead us to our site and leave. They sometimes ask if we need help though. Never considered tipping, seems to me it is part of the job. They are trying to get everybody in and clear the roads. The one time the escort insisted on helping us back in (it was a holiday weekend), it was the worst back up job I ever did. She had the nerve to ask if I got mainly pull throughs! Just about bit her head off. Did much better after I stopped listening to her.
