Could be I misunderstood the thread. I thought you all were talking about the FROG Rally. When I pull into any other camp ground I will tell the host if you need to direct me to my site, that's OK..but I will back in myself and prefer no help. They usually leave me alone and I just do what's natural.. Park.. 🙋

I think you meant to quote my earlier post. I don't have any interest in going to NJ, but if that changes, I'll be sure to fuel up before entering and get back out before needing fuel! 😃

x1000.

Worse than campground escorts are our male friends and family. They jump to help me backup when all I will listen to is my wife on the cell.

Fortunately, they get the hint pretty quick.

I had one well intentioned wife's friend's husband try to tell me which way to turn the wheel. I gave him a tip later.

Positively hate when people rush to help us park. I only listen to DH. Most of the well intentioned helpers seem to think since he's letting the DW park he needs help. What they don't realize is that I do most all the driving and parking. Lol

I remember one KOA escort ask me if I could park the rest of the trailers for him since I did such a good job getting in..... the trick was I tuned him out and only listened to dh on the walkie talkie. I hope to do as well at Goshen with the fiver as I did with my old tt back then.

Had a couple of old geezers start helping me back into a very tight spot. DW was working it but those guys could ready shout. No offense Coot. I had to stop and politely ask if they would kindly not help. One stated that it looked as if I needed help. What do you say to that? I asked him if he was willing to pay for damages if He helped me hit that tree. They slowly walked off, mumbling. We missed that tree by an inch, I measured it. Good thing we did not have slides.
Only had an escort one time.

Just a cheap tip....my DW is on her mobile phone and me on mine (speaker) when parking. Never any issues EXCEPT she expects the 37ft fifth wheel to turn on a dime from a dead stop, really?!

Often I need to take the fiver alone back to our spot in the mountains, 65 miles north of home. I use 5 std sized orange cones on the drivers side of the rig. I walk it and place each cone
In the line I need to park on. I PACE THE LENGTH OF THE RV FROM THE REAR BUMPER TO THE CENTER OF THE DRIVERS DOOR. ( takes less than 2 minutes) I back in following the cones with mirrors and vision. When straight, I know the LAST CONE NEEDS TO BE WHERE I EXIT THE TRUCK. Simple and effective.

We've only come across this once down in Sarasota, Fl. I was surprised but also appreciative since I was pulling doubles (golf car trailer). He even helped unhook my golf car trailer and put it at the rear of my site. Then he was a set of eyes to back in the fiver. I thought it was nice and when I'm on vacation I tend to be generous so I gave him 10 bucks.

Couple of months ago, in one of our sites, a couple of gentlemen came over while I was directing my DH (Santa Bob), wanting to do it instead. DH politely told them that he was used to his wife and that was all he needed. I fell in love again.

We had this at KOA in Monterey/Watsonville CA. Guy was more of annoyance than he was helpful.

Then there was the time that the guy got pissy, stood there sucking sour grapes, and eventually stomped off because both my wife and I made a joke that I only listen to her (and then proceeded to park via cell phone)...

Oh wait, that was here- Sycamore RV Resort.

Sorry man- I have hundreds of parkings with her. She knows what I like and I know what she likes. It just works better for us. No offense meant by it.
