Tired of Buying Fresh Water Hoses

I haven't had much luck with the white Camco hoses. So I tried one of the "premium " blue hoses. It also swelled and sprung a leak after a few uses. And I religiously use a pressure reducer.

Where can I get a true heavy duty hose? Don't mind paying $$ for it if it will last more than a year.

I have an industrial hose I use at home that is rated at 500psi, 180 degrees water temp. Why can't this be used for potable water?

We all got a drink of water out of our water hose multiple times when we were kids. And we're all fine. I'd just go buy a heavy duty hose

When I was a kid, hose water was always the best and it still is. I use a Gilmour for potable water and have for years.

What do you do to your hoses? Had the same cheapy one for like 10 years jeez! LOL

But like Wyo700 says.. Used to drink out of the house hose all the time and I turned out ok...

The "special hoses" are usualy made from materials that do not leave a task in the water and less lead used in the fittings.

I am in the same boat as you. The Camco hoses are not very good. I bought a Camco blue premium hose last year that had a bad taste from the first use.
I have not tried the Armadillo but it looks to fit what you are looking for.
Here is a link.

I have no idea! When we had our first camper in 2004, we never replaced a hose in five years. Now it seems every year the inner lining springs a leak and swells up the outer cover. I'm 58 and still like a long drink out of the garden hose. Guess I'll go back to basics.

Just a thought here, I stayed at Wal-Camp in Illinois last year. The water supply was considerably farther than normal so I used the garden hose, They politely dropped off a note from the city instructing all campers must have the standard white hose. How many city have this type of ordnance?

I had problems with the white Camco hose fitting coming loose from the hose replaced it with a blue hose a couple of years ago, no problems yet.

Could be you got a defective blue one, mine seems to be quit stout and no kinking.

Get a couple of 25 footers, easier to use and roll up.

If you install the pressure regulator at the faucet end of the hose the hose will be protected.

Never had a problem with these hoses other than they will not roll up, they have some strange memory to them and I find myself looking for a knife so I can kill it every time I roll it up. Someday I'll actually remember to buy a new one and see how that goes.

Same question ???

I have had the "cheap" white hoses for years and never had a problem with them bursting or leaking ?? The only time I replace them is after several years of use and I feel time due to age.

We have been all over the country and never have run into this one! And not all fresh water RV hoses are white. I'm betting it was some volunteer or park employee who didn't have enough to do and decided to give you grief for something that was different

I have come across this in several municipal and public utility owned parks in the States of WA, OR and CA. They inform you at check-in. Of course in CA everything is made of a known carcinogen, LOL. It's easier to just comply rather than debate the hired help.

I would of politely told them to mind their ODB. Thats called government run amuck.

I would of asked them what one of there municipal lines looks like inside when they have to replace a section. Have you ever seen inside one that has been in use for any length of time? You'll be running for bottled water if you do .

Got Eight years out of one of these

Bought one of these eight years ago and it finally gave up the ghost when my kid ran over it with the lawn tractor at the end of camping season last year.

Found another one on Amazon for just under $24.

NeverKink 8612-50 5/8-Inch-by-50-Foot Boat and Camper Hose; It has a lifetime warranty which I figured that was not going to cover the brain trust running over it and shredding it with the lawn tractor

I have a Flexzilla water hose, lifetime warranty, they do not have the rubber taste at all, no bad taste of any kind, they are lined inside. Understand they do sell a hose for RV's but they cost more and only a few years on the warranty.

Water | Hose | All Weather | No Kink | Lightweight | Flexzilla
