Take the kids to D.C and campout in front of the White House or Capital Building. You can educate them on a govt. at it's worst. Very disturbing this has taken so long when it could of been done before the last elections.

It has to be very disappointing to you and not knowing either way for sure.

Here's my two cents:
I would find a plan "B" and reschedule plan "A" another time.

Believe me, I do understand how you must be feeling. After trying for a long time to make reservations at a beach CG I finally got it booked and waited for the date to come. Just days before my trip I got an call phone from ReserveAmerica stating that they were refunding my reservations - cg got flooded out by several storms. My brother time was limited (cancer) so this trip was important to me.

Came up with plan "B" and had a great time! Actually it was during that trip and spending some time in their 5th wheel I started yearning for a trailer....

Well, Luckily my reservations are not until next weekend (the 17th). Hopefully someone has come to their senses by then.

I fall into the "wonder if I'm getting paid" category (active duty). Luckily Navy Federal Credit Union is going to pay it's active duty members the equivalent of their normal pay on the 15th regardless, they're planning for the 30th as well.

I use USAA Bank and Navy Federal Credit Union. They are the best financial institutions in the WORLD. USAA had no aviation clause in their life insurance even during Vietnam.

Agree, Used USAA for car insurance up until my daughter turned 16, unfortunately they're not as competitive when it comes to younger drivers so I switched to Allstate. I have the Crusader financed through USAA and everything else including my mortgage through NFCU.

Yes, but the devil is in the details. It only keeps the doors open till Thursday. Another bill will be needed then to keep it going. They say it should go, though.

This shows that's neither side wants or has the will to shutdown the govt. they took it to the last hour to get the best deal possible for them. Politics as usual..and Big O will take all the credit..

Soooooo, back to the Original Poster;

GO! And have a blast.

Somehow, someway, they will get the people's work done.

I have to think that the universal outrage shown by the people towards both parties had a LOT to do with the compromise (regarding NOT paying the troops in combat; while they got paid on time).

We went..... we had a great time. We set up camp last Thursday evening... just pulled home this morning! 6 nights!!!

Here is what we were told. IF they hadn't gotten their act together we would have had 48 hours to leave park. We were planning on leaving Sunday anyway so that would have been great. Good news is that I called, backed out of doing PT and just stayed a while longer.
Didn't mean to turn this into a political debate... just wanted to string up every government official that was going to mess with my camping. Good for them they are all going to live now. hehehe
