I think there is an unknown here that is like the elephant in the room. Not all trailers have the same path from the toilet bowl to the tank. Mine drops straight down. I know others have a pipe on a diagonal between the bowl and the tank. I can see that too much paper and poo and not enough water can create a problem.

Mine drops straight down, so if you have turns you could very easily have a problem with to much paper and not enough water. I can go a week if I watch how much paper and water I put in

The 10-second flush works well for us. Keeps the poop-to-water ratio very favorable for dumping the tank.

The day we have to do that, is the day I have to go back to tent camping.

Stay away from Charmin, Kleenex (tp and tissues), wipes and any tp that feels velvet and then flush real well at every dump. The does it breakdown in a jar of water with a little shaking test is the ultimate way to be sure.

Tried RV TP on our first TT and quickly switched to using whatever TP is on sale, and never had an issue ... but we make sure that we flush a bowl full of water each time.

On our third trailer now ...

We always use angel soft. It dissolves well and is relatively cheap. We also use the geo method. Only time we had an issue with an odor was a bad studor valve or if someone forgets to turn the fan off before flushing. As stated above, the key is proper tank management using liberal amounts of water, never leaving your tank empty and good flush ours. Your chemical of choice should be fine, I just prefer the geo method.

We use Kirkland or local Grocery Store on sale. Nothing special...Use Camco Treatment for odour control and Geo Method when travelling to clean the tanks.

Reading this discussion, made me think of a friend, who has no problem with dropping wise cracks, lol. And when I read, "why chance it", I couldn't help but chuckle picturing him saying, "You might as well camp in your yard, cuz you could get into an accident or have a flat tire on your way to the campground, why chance that". LOL

That must be because the "Navy Seal" TP breaks down faster than the Marine grade TP does. Or is it that the Seals are softer? Nothing tougher than Marine Grade! LOL. I can't let my Marines take a back seat even when talking TP.

Like 4mula1fan we now put the tp in a small side basket with a bag in it and dispose in trash daily. This, after pluging of vents and drain discharge on our bought-used trailer. I had to take the roof vent caps off and feed a running hose down and around in tank to loosen and free up as well as a flush hose inside and down the toilet. Another experienced rver suggested the basket and we haven't had issues since on either our used or now our new 5th wheel.

Turns out that I had to go back to the Marine grade. Seems that even SEAL Tp don't take crap off nobody.
