I was walking through Harbor Freight the other day and saw this 12V air compressor on sale (

Figured for $35 I would take a chance and see how it does, claims to be able to push up to 100psi, Well I have to say I am very impressed! The yellow hose, while a bit short had a nice threaded end to screw right on to the valve stem securely. I plugged the little guy in, checked the built in psi gauge which matched my tire gauge reading, hit the power button and a very quiet motor started humming away. My sidewalls recommend 80psi and one of them was down to 72, but after about 3 minutes the gauge read 80. Disconnected the little pump and did another reading to verify.
Gotta say that I'm pretty pleased. I don't know how long this pump will work for, but the cost was sure worth it. I did have to buy a 12v extension cable since the built in one is only 10ft long. The compressor came in a nice little bag that has room for some additional accessories and included a couple of air attachments like a needle for sports equipment.
