We were camping just north of Iron Mt., Mi. Monday evening when our cell phones went off and told us to take cover/ tornado warning!!!! Then the wind and rain ripped through the campground. Later on the news they said we had some high straight line winds and not a tornado but did the Wildcat rock a bit.

We will be heading for a campground near Rogers City in the UP next month. can't remember the name, but we stayed there last year and it was great. It's in my GPS for good.

BTW, Rogers City is in the NE corner of lower MI. It's very close however to the UP and a trip across the Mackinaw Bridge shouldn't be missed. Take the time to see some of the UP.

I am staying at the Pine Ridge RV park this weekend. I called them yesterday and they said they are open and will be 90% cleaned up by then. No serious injuries, thankfully.

We've crossed the bridge a couple of times, it's one of the reasons we take that route to N.D. Highway 2 begins there and goes all the way to our destination. What a sight!
And the island is a good stop, too. we didn't have time for the hotel, but did take a buggy tour. Awesome! Our autistic son laughed and had such a good time on the boat-ride there and back, and touring in the buggy. We live in an Amish populated area of Indiana, and buggies are common, so he felt right at home.

BTW, NE Indiana, just south of Fort Wayne is a great visit! Shipshewana, Berne, and a couple of other Amish/Mennonite communities. Camp at Amishville, outside of Geneva and take in the sights. Decatur, just south of Ft. Wayne, is home to Fleetwood RV and there are several dealers/RV stores in the area. Auburn has the Cord/Dusenberg Museum, and the Auto Auction--lots of antique and classic cars to see. Berne is home to the Muensterberg Clock Tower/park right on the corner of U.S. 27 and IN 218, and Geneva has a great State Historic site that is dedicated to the work of naturalist/movie star Gene Stratton Porter. If you're in the area, pull in and stay a couple of days!

Woodhaven twister in Sublette did a lot of damage. Out of over 6,000 lots, they estimate a third were damaged to some extent. Thank God no one was killed.
