Yeah, less than a minute warning...the doppler radar only creates a full image every 6 minutes (mind you, that image contains a LOT of data!!) and most are automated to the point the software detects the "hook" that preceeds or indicates a tornado.
Once detected, the alert will go out in less than a minute with the funny robot voice dude reading it all off.
Less than a minute...that's why I'm always harping on a pre-planned tornadic event: You are not going to have time to plan, so plan ahead. Know where you are going to go and get there quick! Severe weather doesn't sneak up on us, we have plenty of time when you see the sky getting dark to think these things through.
Not to mention a quick listen to the evening weather report tells you whether or not to roll in the awning and put away the chairs and stuff before bed, so you don't have to do it in your PJs in a driving rain at 3 am!!
