Torsion Bar Lube?

My T bars on the Palomino have grease fittings to lube.I was at Camping world yesterday and the tech told me not to lube the T bars because it attracts dirt and grime.
If you don't lube them they'll moan and grind.i've been lubing mine now for 3 yrs-and they are grungy.
I cleaned them up and am going to do without lube for a test.

The question is-to lube or not to lube. That is the Question.

Your thoughts?
