tow in the snow -just made it!

Most of the smart campers pulled out of sturbridge Saturday morning to avoid the snow coming in the forcast..
I decided to stick it out and do some winter camping ,snow started at 2:00 sat afternoon, everything was fine until the power went out at 5:00 pm .. pos battery craped out at 3:00 AM while giant limbs and trees were crashing all around us. the Camper survived till morning with about 6" of heavy wet snow on the ground and in the trees, decided to leave asap.. needed to lock in Four wheel drive and drive over -under and around power-lines and downed trees and branches.needless to say the DW was very upset with the whole situation but my 16 year old Daughter was a trooper.
Got home 30 miles south to no power in most of CT. just got restored today.
The camp ground was kind enough to allow me to leave my unit on the site until next week-end. could of used it at home during the Black -Out.
Note one of my daughters friends family pulled out on Sat AM and got there unit home before the storm --only to wake -up on SUNday with a tree smashed thru middle of it.
The last camping trip of 2001 will not be forgotten !!!!
Anyone out there have any close calls?

My worst was in April 2009, Going north to Colorado. Spent an extra day to allow the weather to clear to the north. Left Levelland and o. k. to Dalhart. Some how missed my turn and got on a road that was still closed because of snow. Was tought sledding up to Boise City Ok. Had a semi in front and another behind me and even the were driving about 20-25 mph the whole distance. Wayne

This past spring we left for The Tetons/Yellowstone over Memorial Day weekend. They had a record snowfall in the area over the past winter and it continued right up thru our trip. Our trip in to Colter Bay RV Park took us thru the Togwotee Pass right during a snowstorm. That was the most white knuckle drive I have ever taken with the camper. I was watching the road, my daughter was watching for wildlife (we had seen two HUGE moose right along the side of the road on two seperate occasions on the trip by this time) and my wife was watching for snowplows. The snow-banks were higher than the roof of the trailer!
