I'm more afraid of the idiots who think just because it's bigger, more powerful, and can do 80 mph, they think they should.

I agree- along with other callous drivers that jump in front of us and stab the brakes like its a Safeway parking lot. I was taught to drive by watching at least two cars ahead of what's going on and damn it I'll do it when I'm towing also!!

I'm sure you're talking about those who didn't burn to a crisp because they ran their propane refrigerators while towing.

It is amazing how fast these "I got a 1/2 ton and want to tow X" goes to complete garbage.

I feel sorry for anyone who asks (unless of course it is a troll; then its game on).

That's funny. I don't recall saying anything about bragging about it on the forums. I referenced not seeing them all over the road. As many 1/2 tons as I see pulling what would be considered "overloaded", I should see the accidents regularly, but I don't. I also should see lots of wrecked 3/4 tons as the majority of them pulling a 5er are over payload as well, but I don't. Pretty much every farmer in my area- literally thousands of them- should have died in a fiery inferno from being overloaded, but they haven't.

Oh no, those are in separate junkyards along with all the worn out fire trucks that put the fires out.

Looks like you'd be up the same creek to me.

But, I do see their point. I regularly see overloaded 1/2 tons unable to stop and sliding through intersections and read about them careening off the road because they lost breaks….. Oh wait, no I don't.
Okay thanks, I get your point, I'm sure my F250 can pull my 9000 lb trailer safely. Wanted expert with experienced person to answer, thank you...

Ok guys I think this thread has run its course. 6 pages of everyone having their say on this is plenty for the OP to make his own informed decision.
